Code Jammers Impress in Belfast

Earlier in May 2019, NiSoft invited some of the local technology enthusiasts from the University of Ulster’s computing degree, to take on a challenge to develop a mobile solution in a short turn around time, against some of the finest talent NiSoft has to offer.

The entrants, sourced from within NiSoft’s development, configutation and QA teams pit their wits against the University group on the challenge to develop a mobile based puzzle game that could represent their skills in developing a solution and show an appreciation of user experience to turn around an app in a very short time frame. Given just a two day window, the teams had to produce a functioning drag and drop jigsaw puzzle hosted on ASP.NET.

The developers took on the challenge and produced some great looking designs and solutions, which were presented back to the teams and management to determine who would win the prizes on offer. In the end there were winners from both the University group and NiSoft, with some great puzzles and apps being produced.

NiSoft have a longstanding principle of fostering local talent within our global offices, and offering students and graduates the opportunity to learn NiSoft from the ground up through our graduate placements and full time employment. Many of the senior management and key employees have worked through the ranks at NiSoft and become important experienced individuals within the overall global NiSoft team.
